Currently there is no vaccination available for hay fever symptoms. Instead, the most effective treatment is the hay fever jab (Kenalog). The hay fever injection is an effective treatment for extreme symptoms of hay fever or allergic rhinitis. It works by reducing the immune system's response to allergens such as pollen, decreasing inflammation and alleviating symptoms such as congestion, itchy eyes/skin and sneezing.
Our GP services offer, safe, fast and effective hay fever injections. In contrast with common over-the-counter treatments such as antihistimines and nasal sprays, our hay fever injections provide long lasting relief from your symptoms. Unfortunately the hay fever injection is not currently available on the NHS, but our private hay fever treatment provides a consistent relief from symptoms at a reasonable price.
Common hay fever symptoms may include:

During your consultation, your GP will highlight the benefits and the potential side effects of the treatment so you can make an informed decision. Thorough assessment will determine whether you are a suitable candidate for this treatment, and in the case that you are unable to recieve the injection, alternative treatment plans may be suggested.
The hayfever injection is adminstered (usually via injection into the buttocks for optimal absorbtion and comfort) and you will feel a small pinching sensation similar to recieving a vaccine. The effects of the injection will start to work within 48 hours of administration.
The treatment's effectiveness can vary from person to person, due to each individuals bodies responding uniquely. In some severe cases, a second dose may be recommended, but for most one injection per season is enough.

There are several methods you can attempt to manage your hay fever symptoms, which may be enough for some to alleviate uncomfortable symptoms:

After your hay fever injection, you may feel sore around the area where the steroid was administered. You may also encounter some sleep disturbance for a few days, headaches, joint pain, and an increased risk of infection.
Not everyone is suitable for this treatment. Anyone undergoing a treatment that lowers their immune system or chemotherapy is unsuitable. If you have high blood pressure or are diabetic, you may also be unsuitable. You must give your doctor your full medical history so they can accurately assess suitability.
This Treatment is not recommended for:
The hayfever jab is generally safe but may cause mild side effects like soreness at the injection site, headaches, or temporary sleep disturbances. Our GPs will discuss any risks before administering the injection.
The injection is given intramuscularly into the buttock for best absorption and minimal discomfort.
