Home visits are available in selected locations and are priced based on distance and urgency.

How to Book your Appointment

You can book using our online form below, or by email or phone. Depending on availability and your reason for booking, your appointment may be with a doctor or a non-GP clinician such as a Physician Associate or Nurse. All such appointments are triaged to ensure they are appropriate and safe, and your care is overseen by a GP. Any follow-up, results and investigations are reviewed with a GP.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a private GP, and how does this differ from an NHS GP?

A private GP is a qualified general practitioner who operates outside of the NHS system, offering medical services for a fee. Unlike NHS GPs, private GPs can often provide:

  • Faster Appointments: Same-day or next-day appointments across all our clinics, avoiding long NHS waiting times.
  • Longer Consultation Times: No time limit on consultations, so you can fully explain your concerns without feeling rushed.
  • Enhanced Services: Immediate diagnostic tests, on-site blood tests, and specialist referrals all under one roof.

While NHS GPs provide excellent care, private GPs offer a more flexible and patient-focused experience for those seeking additional convenience and immediacy.

What services are provided by private GPs?

Private GPs offer a broad range of medical services following your consultation, including:

  • Prescriptions & Letters: New and repeat prescriptions, medication reviews, sick/fit notes, medical letters and reports, fitness-to-travel and employer letters.
  • Health Assessments & Check-ups: General health MOTs, blood pressure and cardiovascular risk checks, diabetes and cholesterol screening, men's and women's health reviews.
  • Blood Tests: Full blood count, thyroid function, liver and kidney tests, hormone testing, diabetes and cholesterol panels.
  • Referrals & Specialist Letters: Private specialist referrals, imaging referrals (MRI, CT, X-ray), ongoing care summaries, insurance and medico-legal letters.

Availability of specific services may vary slightly by clinic location.

Can I get prescriptions or referrals from a private GP?

Yes, in both cases:

  • Prescriptions: Issued during your consultation and collected at any pharmacy of your choice.
  • Referrals: If specialist care is needed, we can refer you to private or NHS specialists to ensure a seamless healthcare journey.

This means you receive the necessary treatment promptly and efficiently.

Do you offer GP home visits?

Yes. Home visits are delivered by GMC-registered doctors and offered as a separate service from clinic, video and telephone consultations, starting from £295. Availability and exact pricing vary by location — see our Home Visits page for full details.

Which locations do you have private GP clinics in?

We currently have private GP clinics in Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, London, Newcastle, Leicester, Bournemouth (Dorset), Oxford, Derby and Manchester, alongside nationwide online (video/telephone) consultations and home visits within roughly 30 minutes of each clinic.

Can children see a private GP?

Yes, our GPs see patients of all ages, including children, across our clinic, video, telephone and home visit services.

Do I need health insurance to see a private GP?

No, health insurance is not mandatory to access our private GP services. You can pay for your appointment directly without involving an insurer. However, if you do have private health insurance, some policies may cover part or all of the cost, so it's worth checking with your provider.

How much does a private GP appointment cost?

We offer transparent, pay-as-you-go pricing with no hidden fees and no long-term commitment:
  • Telephone Consultation: £49 — a quick, discreet call with a qualified GP for advice, medication reviews and follow-ups.
  • Video Consultation: £79 — a face-to-face appointment via secure video call, better suited to visual assessments.
  • In-Clinic Consultation: £95 — full physical examination, on-site testing and blood tests (this can vary slightly by clinic, e.g. £85 in Birmingham).
  • GP Home Visit: from £295 a GMC-registered doctor travels to you, priced by distance and urgency.
Payment is required in advance at booking. Additional fees may apply for extra services like blood tests, reports or referrals, and these are always agreed with you beforehand.

What conditions can your GPs treat?

Our private GPs are equipped to treat a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to:
  • Acute Illness: Colds, flu, infections and minor injuries.
  • Long-Term Conditions: Diabetes, hypertension, asthma and other chronic conditions.
  • Skin & Digestive Issues: Eczema, acne, and general digestive problems.
  • Mental & Sexual Health: Anxiety, depression, and women's and men's health concerns.
Whether you have a specific concern or need a general check-up, our team provides expert care tailored to your needs.

Is there a membership plan, and what does it include?

Yes — our GP Membership Plan is designed to fit your lifestyle with:
  • Priority Access: Fast access to experienced private GPs and same-day appointments.
  • Cost Certainty: Simple monthly pricing with no long-term commitment, plus reduced fees on selected treatments.
  • Rapid Diagnostics: Next-day test results and priority access to specialists.
  • Multi-Location Access: Use your membership across our clinic network.
You can see full membership details here.

Will seeing a private GP affect my NHS registration?

No. Seeing a private GP does not affect your NHS registration or your right to NHS care. You should remain registered with your NHS practice, and with your permission, we can share consultation notes with your NHS GP for continuity of care.
