Dr Rashi Arya

Qualifications: MRCPsych, MBBS, FRCPsych, PGCME, M Med. Sc. GMC: 5200551

After completing medical training, Rashi started working as a consultant old age psychiatrist in 2010, currently working at Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust. In her role of an old age psychiatrist, she works with and supports families and patients suffering with dementia and associated complex problems. Dr. Rashi Arya has been awarded fellowship of prestigious Royal college of Psychiatrists in 2018. 

Being active in research, she is also ‘specialty lead for Dementia and Neurodegenerative disorders’ for CRN at NIHR and is an ‘Honorary Senior Clinical Fellow for dementia at Keele University’.  

She also has an extensive education and training portfolio as she has been an undergraduate support tutor with Keele medical school for the past 11 years and College tutor for south Stafford MPFT for the past 2 years. She has been working in her current role with HEE, as a Foundation Training Programme Director for Career, for North Midlands Foundation School since 2020. 

She has worked in the role of ‘clinical director’ for 3 years and led initiatives like ‘locality memory clinics’ and been an integral part of projects like ‘frailty hubs’ which is well established in East Staffordshire and has been benefitting the local population. She recently had been appointed as ‘Associate Medical Director for Quality Improvement’ and hoping to develop robust clinical care systems to improve quality of the care to the patient and their satisfaction.  

She is committed to improving the importance of ‘mental health ‘and has taken up many initiatives in ‘Prevention of dementia, primarily focusing on brain health in early stages of patients’ journeys.  

A keen sportsperson, with a passion for fitness, she has taken part in many fund-raising activities for Alzheimer’s society and Alzheimer Research UK, raising much needed funds for her patients.
