What is Diabetes?

Type 1 diabetes results from the immune system attacking insulin-producing cells, while Type 2 diabetes arises when the body either fails to produce sufficient insulin or the cells do not respond adequately to it. Among these, Type 2 diabetes is more prevalent.

Diabetes Testing (HbA1c Test)
The HbA1c test, also known as the glycated haemoglobin test, is a primary blood test used for diabetes diagnosis. This test provides a snapshot of your average blood sugar levels over the past two to three months, offering a comprehensive understanding of your glycemic control. Our skilled professionals conduct this test efficiently, requiring a small blood sample from a vein in your arm. A level of 48 mmol/mol or above indicates diabetes, while levels between 42 and 48 mmol/mol suggest a risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
